about us

The Club was founded over 35 years ago by a group of like-minded people to help local owners have better control of their dogs. The Club is run by its committee members and trainers on a voluntary basis. Like most small clubs help is always welcome.

We offer classes in conjunction with the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme and promote the use of a positive reinforcement style of training, using treats and praise to reward the behaviour we like, and ignoring the behaviour we don't like.

There are four levels of courses from Puppy Foundation, to bronze, silver, and gold Awards. Designed to give you the skills you need to train your dog to be a well-behaved member of your family.

Anyone interested in training their dog is welcome to come along to the Burton Latimer Community Centre in Pioneer Avenue every Tuesday evening, when you can watch the classes and ask any questions you may have.

You don't have to wait until you get a new puppy before you come and see us.

For information on the times and prices click the "timetable & price" tab at the top of the webpage.
